Istanbul based architect and designer
İrem Metin is an architect based in Istanbul. She received her undergraduate degree from Department of Architecture at MEF University in 2022 ranking first in class / high honour student, during which she worked at MuDD Architect for two months in scope of Erasmus Traineeship Programme in Spain. In 2019, she was awarded with the Boisbuchet Residency Award and she applied for a workshop with scholarship in France. During her undergraduate studies she won several competitions such as, MimED Student Awards (2021 Third Year Category / Success Award, 2020 Second Year Category / Encouragement Award, 2019 First Year Category / Jury Special Award ) International Design Awards 20/ Habitats 20 and Visualization 20 Awards, RIBA Eye Line 2021 Drawing Competition Shortlist, etc. Also, during her undergraduate studies she applied different workshops, biennale works: 2018 Nesin Art Village Architecture Summer School, eCAADe2021 and 2020, Pupa 3.0 Garbage Architecture Workshop, Domaine de Boisbuchet Slow Down Please Workshop, Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2021-Global Studios etc. In addition to her academic studies, she is interested in vernacular architecture, local craft techniques, digital fabrication techniques, digital tools and computational design. Since August 2021, she has been working at MuDD Architects.
